5 Best Things About Fall

It’s fall time!

Usually for Mississippi the onset of the fall equinox means nothing until the later days of October, but this year brought about an unusual change. For three days cloudy skies and breezy winds allowed us Mississippians to bring out our fall clothes and actually enjoy fall weather. With this in mind here are five of the best things about fall.

1. Fall Shows

This one is a little bit of a cheat because it comes whether temperatures drop or not but after all of the summer shows end it’s time to bring all of the ones that truly own you—Hello Scandal! All of the networks premiere new series as well as all of our old favorites.

2. Boots and Scarves

Cooler temperatures force you to retire your summer clothes bring out the warmer wardrobe. No matter how cute or plain an outfit is with a pair of cute boots and a scarf every outfit improves 100 percent.

3. The Fair

I know many areas have their own version of fairs and festivals but as someone from central Mississippi fall time means welcoming the Mississippi State Fair. My favorite part of the fair is the food. Nowhere else is frying every type of food imaginable acceptable.

4. Halloween

Halloween has so much potential from parties, haunted houses, hay rides, and other seasonal activities. Wearing costumes makes it all so much better! The excitement surrounding the holiday isn’t only exclusive to October 31. All of the harvest and pumpkin themed events throughout the month are equally great.

5. Food

In addition to the deliciousness of fair food, fall time brings great options for beverages and cuisine. It’s the perfect time to cuddle up with a hot cup off coffee and indulge in seasonal flavors. We can also enjoy other seasonal favorites like candy apples, popcorn balls, and hot soups. Most importantly, with Thanksgiving now just around the corner it’s the time to kick off holiday dishes, which are hands down the best holiday food of the year.

So whether you celebrate the season by spending your nights watching your fall favorites on Hulu or trying to find haunted houses to explore, it's a great time to indulge in all the season has to offer.
