NANOWRIMO: READY, SET, WRITE!

November is half way over which means participants in NaNoWriMo are starting to feel the heat.

NaNoWriMo formally known as National Novel Writing Month dedicates the month of November to writing. Writers accept the challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days.

There is also a different forum that is geared towards young writers. This is a non-profit organization. It encourages people to follow through with their writing, while increasing creativity in the world. After the thirty days, the writers who submit over 50,000 words are deemed winners and receive prizes.

NaNoWriMo is the perfect opportunity for me and other beginner writers to get our ideas out to the public. Completing this challenge is a great start to being an author.

The book Water for Elephants, which was adapted into the film starring Reese Witherspoon and Rob Pattinson, was first a novel submitted during NaNoWriMo.
